Connections

What is friendship? I suppose it looks different to all of us. Yesterday, I sat with our CareNet staff for a day-long Staff Development Meeting. We did a little business, ate a little lunch, but for the most part of the day we laughed and we cried. I laughed yesterday like I haven’t in a long time. I am surrounded by dynamic women who know how to weave hilarious stories. We laughed and laughed and laughed. My sides hurt and it was good medicine for my soul. We took time to share short testimonies about what God has done in our lives. Each of us cried over the others’ pain. We felt the lows of sadness and desperation, then we felt the elation of forgiveness and redemption in each of our stories. It was a whirlwind of emotions. What I can tell you about yesterday is that new connections were birthed.
Aren’t you thankful for connection? When you can look at someone and say “Oh, me, too!”? Each of our stories may look different, but we have that ONE THING in common–that precious belief and understanding that only Jesus can save us and make us whole. I’m so thankful for friendships, partnerships, and connections. God is good to bring us friends to laugh, cry, encourage, lift up, pray, and partner together in this journey.
My love,
