It is my prayer that we will begin to teach them how to be kind in practical ways.

When situations present themselves, to ask them,
<blockquote>What would be the kind response or how would the Holy Spirit have you respond?</blockquote>
I am always challenged with my own children when we are discussing things like this.  I am under more pressure myself to respond in kindness in my own life.  I desire to be authentic in my faith, to be authentic to my children; to be a good role model of a person who is passionate about her faith and lives out those beliefs.  I am praying that for you as well!

Recently with a group of middle school students, we discussed our life paradigms.  What is it that governs every other situation and decision in our lives?  We determined that if our lives are grounded or based in anything other than our faith and our principles, we will make compromises and we will fail.

A great book for you to read concerning teen leaders is Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey.

Kindness is a behavior quality chosen because our principle and our faith tell us that other people are valuable.  We should treat others the way we want to be treated.  I am praying that we would simply see kindness spread across school campuses in this country.  Being considerate, gracious and kind would sure go a long way to combatting so many of the terrible problems we face.

Here are a few prayers to be praying for this generation of young people:
<ol>
<li>Please invite the Holy Spirit to be present and to move in a powerful way in this generation of young people.  May they be the catalyst for change.  {Psalm 51:11; Matthew 3:11; Mark 13:11}</li>
<li>Pray that our children will choose good friends – friends who will encourage them in their faith and be a positive support group for them.  Their inner circle must be strong so that they can venture out and make an impact. {1 Corinthians 15:33; 1 Samuel 20:42}</li>
<li>Thank the Father that our children are the head and not the tail and that they will be leaders and not followers.  {Deut. 28:13; Psalm 16:5}</li>
<li>I know that many of children and teens have very difficult friend relationships at this stage in life.  Pray that any wounds they have received to this point will be brought to light and dealt with.  {Psalm 147:3; Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24}</li>
<li>Pray that each of our teens will have a good relationship with us, her parents so that she will talk openly with us about situations she faces.  {Psalm 22:4; Malachi 4:6; Luke 11:11; Ephesians 6:4}</li>
