I read that scripture one morning in my office and began to say, “Lord, for as long as I can remember I have tried to be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient…and sometimes I’m just not.  Lord, HOW can I be those things?”  His response to me was something like, “The question is not how, but why.  You can be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle and patient, because you are one of God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved. Because you are, you can clothe yourself in those things….because I have loved you and chosen you, you can be!”

What a truth!  It doesn’t depend on me…it is all because of HIM!  And He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or imagine!  My desire is to see our daughters and our granddaughters grasp that truth now.  They are chosen, holy and dearly loved and they can be all that He has called them to be.  I also want them to understand practically what godly character is…how to be kind when a friend talks bad about them and how to be compassionate when the crowd may turn on them.  I want them to be leaders and influencers!

I also think that serving Christ is a blast!  I want them to know that fun, laughter and thrill is right up God’s alley.  He is not boring or out of touch – He is awesome and passionate, and He wants us to live our lives with zeal and laughter.  

We will beginning our local fall session of chosen soon and I know many of you are taking this journey with us.  Chosen is one of the most rewarding opportunities of my life – to serve a generation of young girls and to equip them to change the world, literally.  No small thinking…I believe that our girls can be every ounce of what God intended them to be.  Watch out world…here they come!  Let the journey begin!
