Fall is certainly in the air!  Last Thursday night, Madi and I were sitting at a High School Football game (we live in Texas, would you expect anything else? 🙂 ) and in the middle of the second quarter, in a matter of moments, fall rolled in.  There was a slight breeze and a definite bit of chill in the air.  All weekend our weather has been just slightly, noticeably different and I certainly have a hankering for fall.  So I decided to share my fall top ten list with you!

10.  I love sweaters and warm clothes! 

9.   Venti Soy Chai.

8.  My sister and I always take a Christmas shopping trip together…one of my favorite things of the year!

7.  Early morning and late night fires.

6.  A good football game with my hubby, my girl, my stadium seat, gloves and ….a Venti Soy Chai. 🙂

5.  Beautiful sunrises in the crisp morning air.

4.  Black Friday shopping with all of the girls in my family.  Wouldn’t be complete with our Aunt Annie’s pretzel.

3. Volleyball tournaments.  Okay, watching Madi and her friends play, maybe not the actual all day tournament.

2.  My wedding anniversary in October…that Brian Gibbs is the best fall gift ever!

1.  The beauty and splendor of the changing colors, welcoming the changing of the season.  Makes me appreciate the creativity and majesty of the Father.

As I think about how quickly the weather changes as Madi and I sat under the Friday night lights, I am reminded of how quickly our lives change.  Our children grow up.  Our walk gets slower.  Our families grow larger.  Our homes warmer.  Our schedules busier.  Our tempers shorter.  Our hope stronger.  Our resolve greater. 

But what is precious to me just now is that when we least expect it, He can blow into our circumstance like a fall breeze and change things…even if in just a slightly, noticeable way…suddenly a new season has begun.
