Candy Gibbs

Yesterday I had a “Gigi Day”.  I took the day off from work calls, emails, and meetings.  I did this…
I took in a deep breath.  I played.  I listened.  I laughed.  I ate Chuck-E-Cheese pizza.  My soul rested in the delight of my grands.

They are a sweet heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3).

The Lord’s love and righteousness is with them (Psalm 103:7).

They are my crown (Proverbs 17:6).

I was due for a “Gigi Day”.  Not all of us have our children’s children to delight in, yet.  But, what do you need?  What is God telling you to do for rest and refreshment?  For a young mom, I know a day at Chuck-E-Cheese probably isn’t it. 🙂 But, what I do know is that we all need rest.  We all need a break.  And, He wants us to find delight in Him–that’s hard when life is too overwhelming.  This weekend while we are celebrating Memorial Day, let’s rest.  Whatever that looks like for you, your family, and our gracious Heavenly Father.  He has sweet rest in mind for us all.

My love,
