For Profit, Not Compassion

I am dismayed. I have been watching this story for days now and I am equally outraged at the callous display of this “physician”. It is unconscionable that she could enjoy her lunch while describing taking the life of a baby in such a way as to harvest the child’s organs for sell. The video brings tears to my eyes and is sickening. I am certain you all feel much the same one.
Here is where my dismay comes in: is it more palpable, less heinous, and easier to swallow that a doctor would abort a baby (for a hefty fee, mind you. Planned Parenthood’s website states that abortions in the first trimester can cost up to $1,500), but dispose of the child’s body in an incinerator or elsewhere? Because that is what has been accepted by society as legal and “loving” since 1973. Millions of babies lives lost and thrown away as trash, and not nearly the massive outrage. Why would it be surprising that a “physician” who can take the lives of innocent unborn babies over and over and over? Why is it surprising that a human being who can make a living in such a callous and disgusting fashion would also be able to sell the organs of a child that they would otherwise throw away—after having taken its life? Doesn’t seem surprising at all to me.
Does the outrage come from the fact that someone is profiting from the death of these innocent babies’ organs? Well believe me, there is much more profit being made than simply organs being sold. In 2013, Planned Parenthood performed 327,653 abortions. Planned Parenthood reports $127 million in excess revenue and over $1.4 billion in net assets. (Source)
“Our top priority is the compassionate care that we provide. In the video, one of our staff members speaks in a way that does not reflect that compassion. This is unacceptable and I personally apologize for the staff member’s tone and statements,” said Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood.
Ms. Richards, the services you provide are not provided out of compassion. Your services are provided so that you can profit from the lost lives of innocent children. That is reprehensible. What is equally disturbing is that the public at large is more concerned by the sale of a baby’s lung than the fact that that precious little child will never inhale a deep breath of life.
