That is so true about our King. He will ask us to do things that scare us to death, that push us to the edge of who we think we are, that we never dreamt we would try…but He knows that He has placed eternity in our hearts, that we desire more, that we want to see Him move, and that those things which scare us are the very things that make the hair on the backs of our necks stand up! Maybe safe is our enemy – let’s ask God for a thrilling ride through this life…fact is, we are safe when we ride with Him!
If you would give me the privilege, I would like to pray over you and your families in much the same fashion I do in my office each morning.
“How awesome are your ways, O God. I thank you for each of these families who journey with us. I thank you, God, that you have much to teach us and that you gave sweet nuggets to each of our children, all their own. God, I now ask that you would go with them. I thank you, Lord, that your Word tells us that you go before and behind them, that you give your angels charge over them, that you hide them under your wing. Lord, we feel so hemmed in and protected. I thank you, Lord. God, I ask that you would cover them all with your full armor. Give them, Lord, a helmet of salvation to remind them what you have done for them, that we are a people who needed a Savior. Lord, thank you for a belt of truth that will bring them balance and stability as they step out into your purpose. God, I thank you for a huge shield of faith that will protect them from every fiery dart of the enemy. God, I ask that when the enemy sees them, all he would see is their giant shield of faith, and that he would be reminded of the mighty God that we serve. Lord, I thank you for the sword of the Spirit, your Word, that is our weapon…I thank you for your truth. Lord, we do not shrink back – we press forward. We want to continue to take ground for your Kingdom and we will not fear. Lord, I pray for favor and influence over each of these young ladies. They are the head and not the tail; they are leaders with a mission: to draw people to you.
How we love you, Father, and how we love the children you have given to us. God, I ask you that we would make good use of the time you have given us with them. Remind us to number our days and help us to take each one of them seriously. Lord, protect them, guide them and thrill them.
Lord, I will never be able to thank you for all that you are to me. Only you and I know, Father, the many steps we have walked together…but your faithfulness and your truth are life to me. Lord, thank you for all that lies ahead. Oh how I love you! In the name of your precious Son and my Great King, Jesus…Amen!”
All my love, Candy
